Roles 4 Womxn respectfully acknowledges that the territories where we work are the ancestral homelands of the Beothuk, and that the island of Newfoundland is the ancestral homeland of the Mi’kmaq and Beothuk. We recognize the Inuit of Nunatsiavut and NunatuKavut and the Innu of Nitassinan, and their ancestors, as the original people of Labrador.
We also work on the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabe and the Wendat. This territory is part of the Dish with One Spoon Treaty, an agreement between the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and allied peoples to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.
